General Secretariat

The General Secretariat is responsible for administrative management and coordination of essential services (chancellery, accounting, human resources, library, IT, logistics and security) that enable court operations and judicial activities to run smoothly.

The General Secretariat plays an advisory role in the Court’s decision-making bodies. Its staff take minutes at meetings and prepare and implement decisions. The General Secretariat is run by the Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General. The Secretary General also acts as spokesperson for the Court.

The Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General are appointed by the Court’s Plenary Assembly on a proposal by the Administrative Commission.
